Spectrovial® Comminution and Blending Vials For Ball Pestle Impact Sample Grinders

SpectroVials are cleverly designed with concaved interior ends on both sides. The concavities eliminate pockets that tend to entrap and accumulate sample particles that elude further comminution. Particle size reduction and homogeneity is accomplished by ball pestle impact and mulling against the contoured vial ends.

SpectroVials are available in assorted volumetric capacities and materials for processing sample materials of different hardness and designed for accommodation by both SpectroMill®-I and II Ball Pestle Impact Grinders.

Polystyrene SpectroVials® Comminution Vials

Polystyrene is a clear, rigid plastic fairly resistant to breakage. SpectroVials fabricated of polystyrene are capable of withstanding repeated ball pestle impact. To ensure ruggedness, the exterior ends are engineered with ribbed structures to further increase their impact resistance characteristics. They are most useful for blending powders and comminuting relatively soft samples. The friction-fitting caps integrate tabs for easy disassembly. Methyl methylmethacrylate ball pestles are suggested.

Agate SpectroVials Comminution Vials

Agate is a naturally occurring fine-grained mineral. It is suitable for comminuting very hard materials with reduced transition elemental contamination to the sample. Typically consists less than 0.02% of: Na, Mg, Al, K, Ca and Fe. Because of its natural occurrence, elements and concentrations will vary. This material is prone to fracture and is supplied without any warranty expressed or implied. Interior ends are concaved. Encased in an anodized aluminum container for added protection. Agate ball pestles suggested.
